SCOUTS
may not have CELL phones or electronics T.V.s, IPODS at camp.
Otherwise Bear or Chris will enjoy using them for the week.
Camp visits are
welcome, please let Troop know you are coming so they can
connect with you.
A few notes for
review to keep our scouts safe and having a great week.
What to WEAR
Class
A uniform for the ride down and Dinners.
Class B shirts.
Any plain solid color T shirt or any other Scout/Cub Scout
T Shirt. (No inappropriate logo or slogans)
What to Pack
Check list handed out at Troop meeting.
How to Pack Good
practice to have a day’s clothes in a large zip lock
plastic bag. Easy for boys to manage and insures dry clothes
should weather. Give your scout someway to carry his items
to shower and then return to tent.
Footlockers or Gear
Cans Something
waterproof to keep personal items in is necessary. Academy
Sports has some plastic lockers for about $23.00 They are
about 12” tall and should fit under the cots.
Day Pack
The camp is a big place and boys will need some type of pack
to put stuff in during the day. A lightweight school backpack
is fine. Consider that they will use it for the BIG HIKE on
Friday. It should carry at least 2 qts of water, snacks, poncho
etc.
Merit Badge Books
These are
needed for all of the courses. They are
available for purchase at Boy Scout Office Shop about $4.
each.
Lunch Sunday
The Troop will stop at Braum’s or some fast food Restaurant
on the way down Sunday. About $6. or bring a sack lunch.
CAMPS TRADING POST
Yes Ice Cream,
Soda’s, Candy are all available plus every scout trinket,
badge, souvenir imaginable. Talk with your scout about how
much money to bring and how to manage it. The leaders can
keep $$ for scouts if requested. It is also possible to use
money from scouts account for camp but make arrangements with
Patty (Treasurer) before leaving.
Activities
probably send about $5 a day plus some for a souvenirs
Merit Badge Fee
Some merit badges have a charge. Please be sure to include
this in your budgeting.
